Posting this here since most of my fishes are livebearers. What kind of veggies can I feed my fish and how would I prepare them? I have the following fish in my tank, which veggies would be safe for all of them?

Swordtails, Peppered Corydoras, Mollies, and a Betta.

Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing for my betta.

First off, bettas are carnivorous, so they don't really eat veggies.

My livebearers like to eat green beans, zucchini, cucumbers, and luttuce (they don't like lettuce that much). You can also feed them carrots, spinach, and peas. Most of them you can just wash off and thrown in the tank. For the peas, cook them for a little bit, de-shell them, and then put them in the tank. You can also buy veggie sticks from kensfish.com.

If you want foods that you livebearers and bettas will love try some live foods. Brine shrimp are great.

I tossed in some carrots and nobody touched 'em. Should I cook 'em to soften them up first?

What about fruit? Do they like it? Is it safe to try it?

So, I tried a piece of orange and nobody even tried it. Peas, however, they go nuts for! Even the Betta! It's really funny 'cause at first I put half a pea in there and my female betta dove right into the middle of the pea making pea pieces go everywhere! It was hilarious! She LOVES peas along with the rest of the community. I now have to mush the peas up before I put them in or else they all fight over them. I also put in some softened carrots and they'll eat them, but without the excitement of a pea feeding. Gotta try the rest of the aforementioned veggies next.

My fish love peas too. They seemed to like cucumber the first time I tried it but not the second time. Broccoli they just sniffed at.

Carrots I may try! :)
