Uv Filter On/off

Does any one know if UV filter needs to be switched off while treating for white spot. I'm using King British white spot terminator. It doesnt say about uv filters on the instructions.

I agree, I'd presume UV light would help to kill the parasite

The reason I ask is because I've had some medications that state turn off uv. I only have the instructions on the bottle for this White spot med as I've lost the box instructions.

Does any one have the instructions for king British White spot terminator ws3. If so could you have looky please.

Always leave the light off when treating with meds.
UV light can cause some medications, depending on ingredients of course, to become toxic and actually kill more fish than the disease would do in the first place. Off the top of my head, I can't remember if WS3 contains said ingredients, however, the UV light could also destroy the meds.

I know this happens with a variety of interpet meds.

My clown loach have ws. My tiger barbs that had fin rot are in a different tank, there fins are regrowing now

Oh excellent! Glad to hear it! Fancy turning up the temp to prevent it from happening again?
Sorry to hear about the CL's, they are more prone to these parasites as they don't have scales. Make sure you only 1/2 dose them, but double the treatment period.

Yep, I'm half dosing at the mo, I hadn't thought about doubling the dosing period. got the temp at 30'c. They seem to be getting better. Not sure if it's safe to keep the temp that high long term to prevent it, maybe drop it down to 28 -27 when they cured and keep the uv on.

Exactly what I was going to suggest. Tiger barbs prefer temps max at 26, so you could possibly squeeze in 27, but 26.5 would be better.
