I saw a picture of a loach hiding in a pile of- what looked to be- yarn that I guess the owner used to provide a hiding place.... Will lthis work?

It is for fish that like to spawn on plants normally. I used one when I was breeding my boeseami rainbows in my community tank. I followed the same directions in BigC's link, they were very helpful. I used black yarn instead, my rainbows didn't seem to care and it made it easier to see the eggs.

The fish attach their eggs to the yarn, you take it out and carefully remove the eggs from the yarn. Then you move the eggs to the tank they are to be hatched in.

Innovative until that cory's spines get stuck. I say thumbs down for catfish

I use 100% acrylic yarn (boiled) for breeding Killis.
