I have recently aquired a Rio 240 that I was planning to keep rainbow fish in but now it has arrived and I see how big it is, I am tempted to go marine. Would such a tank be feasible? I have only freshwater experience so far, but I think I could manage FOWLR to start with.

Having read through the MARC, I could use some more detailed tips. Immediate questions are such as 'What kind of live rock?' Some sites offer Fiji, some Bluestone, some Florida. How different are these?

Also I am confused about prices. I see £179 for 20 Kg of cured Fiji rock on one site (live-rock.co.uk) and also £189 for 22 Kg of Fiji Grade A (?) uncured live rock on another (warehouse-aquatics.co.uk). I would have expected the prices to be the other way round?

Also I note the importance of agitation of the water. I have a Tetratec Ex 1200 that I was planning to use in the original freshwater set-up. Is such a power filter helpful in a marine environment, or do you guys do it all with powerheads?

Thanks for your attention.
