If any of you have been browing Board Announcements lately, you probably know I'm reorganizing the LFS Directory threads. I have finished the one for the United States, I'll be working on the UK next.

It would be nice to get some new reviews and update some old ones (feedback on the new format would be good too ), so please check out the thread. Please do not post in the linked thread as I'm trying to make it as streamlined as possible.

Staff is very unhelpful. They know absolutely nothing, which I discoverd when they advised a lady with a new tank to come back next week and buy 2 Bala sharks for her 10g tank, as it will cycle in a week. They also are over priced in some area's. Not a good store, but it is about the only one we have( many have closed down), so I have to deal with it.

Comments: Great store. Good prices, freindly people, great selection, great health of fish and other animals. It's definatley worth stopping at if your around the area.

Comments: this used to be my favorite store for fish the tanks were clean and they had the best variety in there tanks. they are still the best spot to get Nerite Snails and they will special order fish. but you would have to grab them before they drop them in the tank. the last few fish i have gotten from them have died three days after or have been sick. this store is a purely enter at your own risk.

Comments: i love going to this store. it is my current favorite. i live in a small area so in this part of new york this is the best option of fish and equipment. the only downside would the the lack of salt water, if you have salt tanks. the staff is truly wonderful and it is always a delight to go there.

Comments: you know i know a lot of ppl slam walmart but the fish are actually usually in good shape there and unlike most fish store there is a 90 day return policy on them as well. i tested that as well! i once lost an ottocat about a week after buying it from there, so i returned the body to walmart, and they returned my money without a problem. how many fish stores do that?
they get new fish every other Tuesday as well, so those are the times to get them, but i have found this that most fish are in great shape, even the water cups the bettas are in are bigger then some local stores.

Great store they have good selection of fish and they seem to be all in good health. Always when I go in there people are changing water and working on the tanks. Staff are knowledgeable as well and actually don't lie to ya to get ya to buy some fish that wouldn't go with your setup. They actually will ask ya what tank set-up you have and give advice on cycling. They normally recommend fish in cycle with like zebra danios or that but that's to be expected since they don't sell ammonia there they'd only be turning you away empty handed if they didn't lol. Also have a very good selection of supplies for both saltwater and freshwater set ups.

I see lots of dead fish in the tanks and the kids there don't really know anything about fish. They need a staff that knows how to test water and care for fish.

They get some rare fish in. They had some pit bull plecos, discus, rams, baby whale, blue shark catfish. They also have salt water fish too. They take good care of their fish. They have been getting some cool plecos too. I buy my dog food here, great selection. I buy fish from them too. I got my medusa pleco from them.

I get many of my fish from them. For a chain store they do have a good selection of healthy fish. The people are friendly not all of them know that much but they try and help. They had bristle nose plecos labelled as common plecos. But it's cool because I got one for the price of a small common. They have salt water fish too.

They have young kids working that don't give a crap about fish. They can't answer a costumer simple question like Do mollies need heaters or filters? I had to help these people out. I also saw the worst case of Hole in the head on a an Oscar that was on display. All there fish look sick and so many of them are dead or dying. The way they clean the tanks is awful. I would never buy a fish from that place. But they do have some good prices on fish supplies. Always dead fish they seem to just not be as healthy.
BUT they have some pretty good plants.

They have fresh and salt water. They have many different kinds and some really big pacu and plecos. I have mixed feeling about this place. They have Red tail catfish that look starved and they had some Sturgon. She also have a nurse shark I feel these fish are too large to be sold to the general public. She should not have them. Also I have seen some unhealthy looking Oscars with hole in head. So of the fish are just sad looking. I did buy a keyhole from her and he is doing ok. Fun store to check out but fish are not kept in the best conditions.

This store had salt and freshwater. I LOVED IT! They had a great selection and healthy great fish. They even had a big tank for homeless fish that out grew their tanks or people did not want them. It was the best aquarium store in the area. BUT THEY WENT ALL SALT WATER. that's why I gave them a sad face. The store is still cool they have sharks and sea horses and all kinds of stuff. They are closed now. It was the best shop.
