I live near there and went in about three weeks ago and to be honest it's not that great. The freshwater section is pretty much what you'd see anywhere with nothing out of the ordinary at all. Prices do seem reasonable from what I can remember and they also have a good selection of live plants.

If I were you I'd do a slight detour and visit Oasis in Salford instead. The Abyss in Stockport sometimes has some good stuff too.
