hi,

is it poss to do 2 treatments at same time, ive a large poorly clownloach, ive treated with melafix but since putting the treatment in the pair of them got whitespot, the poorly one looks a bit better.....breathing getting back to normal but not feeding, im just unsure what to treat for first

im 3 days into treating melafix and using half doses,

any quick replies much apreciated as id be gutted to lose the clown after having it for 2 years,

thanks

lee

most treatments recommend a break inbetween with large waterchanges. i have used protozin at half dosage in the past to sucessfully treat clowns with whitespot, they are sensitive to most treatments.

What are you using the melafix for.
Some fish are very sensitive to melafix.

i turned the light on and noticed both clowns had a large white damage mark just above the eyes,

not sure how they got it, am thinking they both tried to get in a small hole in a rock,

one was fine but the other had rapid breathing and a greyish tone to it,

melafix was my first thought and i had some, i wanted to treat them asap as i was worried i was going to lose the greyish looking one,

i know clowns can react to treatmenys and dont have scales so i dosed by half the recomended amount,

Don't add anymore melafix as white spots meds have antiseptic stuff in it I think.

Clown loaches do have scales. There just to small to see them. The only place they don't have scales are on the head region.

so shud i just treat foe whitespot????

i have anti whitespot plus by interpet,

do i have to run my carbon filter first or can i dose with this treatment right away,

today should be my third day for the melafix,

thanks wilder

Just treat for whitespot.
Do a water change and take out black carbon from filter.
Read med instructions that you can use full dose with sensitive fish.
Increase aeration as the high temp and med reduce 02 in the water.
Raise temp to 30.

Good Luck.
