Urgent Or Not?!

Hey,
Recently my filter has decided to die on me and I plan to purchase a fluval 205 external filter. However, last night one of my fishes died and I am worried this may be because I do not have a filter working at the moment.

My options are to buy online, wait a week and save £20...
or
Go to PAH, get the filter immediately, but spend £20 extra...

Theres only Pets At Home and this place called Aqua Inn in my area, and Aqua Inn don't sell filters

I am going to go first thing in the morning.

I'm running low on dechlorinator so I'm going to pick a bottle of that up while I'm there.
And I may try this thing called Filter Aid, its supposed to polish the water or something...

If you have fish in the tank and a dead filter, try to circulate water through the media as often as possible to keep your bacteria alive. Even if you've already lost some of them, the others will reproduce quickly. You might try taking the media out an putting it into a nylon stocking which can easily be dipped up and down every hour or so to circulate food and oxygen through it.

I wouldn't add anything but regular water conditioner until you have the tank running up to par again.

I am going to purchase the new filter tomorrow so should it be OK for now?

And yes thats a good point, I will wait to use the filter aid.
