shop gave me free whtespot. i took the filter out put it in soak and dosed the tank. also put temp up to 27 is this ok

How many gallons or litres is the tank.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

When you use a whitespot med you just remove the black carbon from the filter. Not need to take the filter out of the tank.
Have you raised temp to 30.
You need plenty of aeration when treating for whitespot, as the high temp and med reduce 02 in the water.

90 litres 3 tiger barbs 2 cherry barbs and 5 neons and 3 glowlight tetras. 1 tiger barb and 2 glowlight have it.0 on ammonia 0 on nitrite 40 on nitrate and ph of 8.2 which i know is too high but have posted seperatly on getting it down

Remove the black carbon from the filter if you use it. Put the filter back in the tank.
Do you have an airstone.

yes the filter still in but removed the media. i have one airstone which is on full blast and is moving the entire surface of the water at top

I would put the beneifcal bacteria sponges back in the filter. As if there not in the filter most of the beneifical bacteria could die off.
Whitespot can knock bacteria in filter sponges abit.

ok i took them out as it said on the box remove them and put in tank water

Whats the med called.
Just going to read 3 thread now.

Look at your other thread. What your tank size. Tiger barbs really need to be a group of six to cut aggression out.

Ok. Don't know anything about that med.
Does it say in the instructions to take filter sponges out of the filter or just black carbon.

remove filter carbon its a fluval u2 internal filter. it has 2 black filter sponges and some bio balls

Not faimilar with that filter either.
Ask in tropical discussion about the med you are using. If you remove all sponges or just black carbon.

I am far from a treatment expert, you will find my treatment questions more often than answers in this section. If the black sponges are carbon sponges and are fairly new, they will be able to remove some of the ich treatment so removal would be a good idea. The bioballs need to stay in the filter to keep your fish fairly safe from ammonia and nitrites, no point to compounding your troubles with water quality issues. Removing the ich treatment after the ich has gone from the tank can be done using carbon but it can equally well be done with large water changes if you don't have any carbon to use.
You don't say what the active ingredient in the house brand ich treatment is. Chances are it is something like malachite green but who knows without reading the label. If you can publish that active ingredient, it will help the real fish disease people give you treatment hints. The only thing I have used in the last 20 years for ich has been a salt and heat treatment so I can't help much there. Right now I am having my own trouble with my favorite breeding molly and have my own thread running in this area to get input from people like Wilder myself. My experience with disease is that if I can't prevent it, I will lose some fish.
