Uploading Pictures?

I did not know what topic I should post this in but... I have been having trouble uploading pictures, they are all too large no matter which camera I use.. any tricks you guys have?

Resize them first to say 800x600 and then re save them on your computer.  That should be a better size for uploading.

Personally I use photobucket and link the images. Although there are other image hosting sites.
 
I've generally found the IPBoard image software a pain and quite limiting.
