Upload Skipped- File Too Large To Upload?

Hi all, this is the error message I get when I go to upload media at the bottom of a post. I just want to post some pictures of my tank, and im guessing that's how I do it. But It won't work. Help?

If it's too large you have to use some tool to shrink the image. There are plenty of free ones and both windows and Mac come with them installed.

Thanks so much. picasa worked. just pressed ctrl shift s, resized and I uploaded it. Thanks guys.
