I am upgrading to a 6ft, 2ft, 2ft tank approx 179.53 U.S. gallons.

I currently have:

1 Golden Severum
1 x Blue Acara
1 x Firemouth
1x EBJD
1x Reed fish
2 x BN Pleco
4 x Tiger Barb

I would like to add some more cichlids to this so suggestions please :)

The tank will have lots and lots of rocky caves and will be planted with a top quality substrate (which i have researched and my local maidenhead aquatics reccomended!!) so lots of hiding spaces and i will be using a FX5 & a 405 filter.

I want to add another firemouth & some more Tiger barbs but apart from that am totally open to suggestion!!!

hmm well i would if you can up the number of reed fish to another 3 or more, they prefer groups...
guessing you want mild mannered cichlids, festivums/rainbows/chocolate cichlids are all mild mannered as are tbar cichlids/some earth eaters...id say you better just having one of each, lot less chance of eruptions in the future...

you can see in my video a chocolate cichlid, the only cichlid i have in this tank except for a male krib somewhere, dont think you can see him on the video..

I like the look of him, and i know my lfs has some chocolates juve's in. Have you had any experience of Salvini's and do you think one would fit in ok?

 Indeed he does have Salvini experience, but I will leave it to nelly to tell you about that :p

All those listed by Nelly would be good additions, personally Id add another severum :D some more TB's or some larger dithers, Bala sharks or tinfoil barbs :good:

Then a nice group of Geo species :good:

hehe i have a male salvini,he was a little s## even in my 150us and caused havoc, steer clear, great as a aggressive tank memeber or a solo display but not in your tank, I still have it,well my sister does in her terripin tank, even goes for her terripins but they are very protected.. hehe

Sorry to be a noob! But im not quite sure what a geo species is???

Also I think i will forget about the Salvini then!! Dont want any serious drama, i like to see a bit of sparring (Loving watching my Blue Acara assert himself as the tank King ....for now) but dont want any psychotic aggression!!

How does adding 4 TB's and a small shoal of 4-5 Silver dollars sound?

I will keep thinking about the cichlids..... Chocolates and perhaps another Sev sound good.

Would definitely consider stocking some kind of Geophagus (cichlid earth-eaters) species i.e. Altifrons, Red Head Tapajos etc
