Its been so long now, I can't even remember what I originally planned doing with my first 10 gallon. It has ended up housing an array of fish that I've rescued from either filthy lfs or taken from a friend/family member. Now that I'm saying the stocking it sounds really bad,
X6 harlequin rasboras (I have another 6 in a 30 gallon)
X3 panda corycat
X1 dalmation Molly (I have another one as well...)
I'd never planned on any of these fish for this tank, and I know really none of those, especially the rasboras belong in a 10g.

I recently bought another 20 gallon, so am a bit low on funds... (not for these fish)

So that brings me to my question, any ideas on what specific tank i should get? I was thinking around the size of 25-30 gallos. Keep in mind I probably won't be able to buy one for another month or so until I get my financial situation figured out. That is, unless I can find a really good deal on a tank, I already have a few retired filters and heaters that should be suitable.

Get the biggest tank you can afford and have space for at the time. Try to get as much floor space as you can for the tank size.

I think the overall problem here is too not rescue fish at all. It only creates more problems than it solves. IE the lack of funds you have to upgrade the tank size for the needed care of all rescued fish. Also its worth noting that they just replace the fish you buy anyway so save yourself stress and just get what you want :)

Normally I'd agree with you techen, but I'm talking about 10 gallon tanks with maybe 50 fish and at least 7-8 dead ones....or for example the corys who were a buddies who lived in the country, was planning on flushing them if someone didn't take them...with a good consciense I couldn't really walk away from most of these fish.
