just an update to show you how i am getting on with my tank im taking your ideas on board an waiting to get a black bg ................though im still open to suggestions please

Since the tank looks pretty tall, I would suggest amazon swords for the back, if you can pay for 'em. I think they'd look great in your tank. Perhaps a few rocks or more bogwood, too?

hi thanks for the reply ill look into the amazon swords from my lfs i will be adding a black background when i can find one..............as for the bog wood the bit i have is quite large and the main centre piece so i dont think id get another bit in my tank though i do like your idea of rocks but im unsure as how to place them do they need to be in a little cluster? or can i just place them at random around the tank? front or back? the reason im asking as i do have a quartz looking rock i bought from the lfs but as a newbie at this i have held back from puting them in as im not sure where to put them or how any advice is apprieciated thanks

Do you have pic of the quartz?

I have a 4 foot tank with bogwood and rocks. I have the bogwood slightly off center (that's just me, I like everything off center...)

In one setup, I used green/gray slate and stacked it up like a ledge. That looked pretty cool. I've also used lace rock, too.

It looks best when the rocks are somewhat random looking, like in nature.

I usually test my layout on the floor and then I try it in the tank. And then I rearrange it about 20 more times!!!

i dont have a pic of the rocks but thanks for the reply they are mostly white with black spots i have 3 of them so ill basically just drop them in randomly n see what it looks like thanks for replying

Very nice looking tank Maybe you could place your rocks in at random then post a pic and people could give you more advice about moving them about??

ok i might try that thanks but ill try n get a decent camera first lol
