Is This Swordtail Poorly?..

If So Whats Wrong With Him?..

Sorry guys wont let my upload a pic.. erm the swordtail..
the back end of the fish is turning white?..
and under the head of the fish is turning white.. :\ whats wrong any ideas?.

I'm sorry, but there is no information to go on. If you added a pic, that would help. What seems to be the problem?

If you want to add a pic, you will have to upload it to photobucket or imageshack ect. Then post a link

its not working for me but, that sounds exactly like what my fish are getting, does it look cottony. to me looks like a fungus, but i never actually found out what it was. it was a silent killer. all the it showed up and killed the fish in less than 8 hours

No It Isnt Goin cotteny.. Its Just White And The Top Fin Is Down Is That A Sign Of Him Being Poorly?.

Try this link..

Loss of color, clamped fins. You are right, he is not feeling well. Do you have a test kit...liquid one? We need alittle info about you tank before we can even guess what is wrong. Water parameters... ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH would be a great start. How did you cycle your filter? How long has the tank been set up? What are the tank mates? How big is the tank? What is the temperature? What is your maintenance schedual? What do you do for maintenance? Each one of these questions can lead us to what is wrong with your fish.

no Test Kit.. Water Change one A Week..
Tank Mates: Guppies, 1 More Male Swordtail, Angel Fish, Clown Loach.. erm got another 3 but get mixed up.. 2 that feed on bottom and one that sucks the tank glass cnt memba what they called..

Tank had been set up for about... 1 month maybe abit less..
Tank Is A 95 litre

hope this helps :\

just look at the swordtail.. looks like on the back end it could be going a bit cotteny.. only a tiny bit though:\

I would guess that you have an ammonia problem if the tank is that young and that overstocked, and I only say its overstocked because a few of the fish mentioned (angelfish, clown loach, "glass sucker" which i think is a plecostomus) can grow quite large and produce a lot of waste.

And water quality problems can easily lead to fungal infections, parasites, illnesses, and just unhappy, poorly fish

So.. How Would I Cure This Problem?.
is there anything i can put in the water?.

This tells me alot actually. It tells me you are not cycled. One water change a week will not help much. It sounds like ammonia poisoning to me. You should do a very large water change with warm dechlorinated water right now. Since you don't have a test kit, you will have to do water changes every day, maybe twice to keep the fish from being poisoned. I suspect that the glass sucking fish is a pleco. They are large ammonia producing fish. Clown loaches like to be kept in groups of atleast 6 and will out grow your tank in no time, same for the pleco. Could you take a water sample to your lfs and have it tested? Have them write down the actual numbers. Don't let them say "everything is fine". We need the actual numbers.

so what your saying basically is i have too many fish?.. would it help if i took some fish out?. as i have a friend that breeds fish and so on and he could look after them?. say if i took out the clown loach and some other fish?.
Also.. as im new to this fish keeping what do you mean by cycled?.

Cycling your filter is the process where the bacteria in the filter converts the ammonia(highly toxic to fish) your fish produce into nitrite(also highly toxic to fish). Then another colony of bacteria convert the nitrite to nitrate. Nitrate is only toxic in large doses. We remove the nitrates when we do partial water changes. Moving some of the fish to another tank will help. I would suggest moving the pleco and clown loach to start. Unless you plan on getting a much bigger tank in the near future, these will outgrow your tank or become stunted and die.

this pleco.. are they good to have in your tank or not?.. dont they eat the Algae off of decor and the glass?.. or dont you really need them in for that?..

Since you know someone that breeds fish, could you get some filter media from their established tank and put it in yours? This will help out a great deal
