Update on Big Red and Mohawk Jr.

Breeding history. Mohawk Man begot Mohawk Jr. and then killed his mate. Mohawk Jr. spawned with a sister and begot Ms. Orange. Ms. Orange spawned with Big Red and begot the latest batch of young adults.

Sounds like Appalachian fish breeding.

One of Big Red’s daughters is in breeding colors and is trying to get Candyman into her cave to spawn. But her feminine charm is yet to work.

The female’s breeding colors are even more vibrant with a little sunlight.

Oh my. We have a spawn. I see fry. The first for Candyman and his bride. The little lady is chasing Candyman away from the cave. She doesn’t trust him. I don’t blame her. He is a tough cookie.

Yesterday the female had the fry sequestered in a coconut cave on the extreme left side of the 20 gallon long. Today I could not find them there. On closer inspection I observed that the female had led the group of fry to a coconut cave on the extreme right side of the 20 gallon long. Quite a trek for these tiny guys and gals. I wonder what prompted this move?

Sounds like they changed their political affiliation en masse. The sure way to know is to look for the tiny MAGA hats.

This morning the mother shepherd the fry all the way back to the left side of the tank where they were born.
