Hiya, Some of you may have read about my guppies in my 20L tank, They are getting their new home tomorrow :) 60L tank. They swim happily, explore the tank and follow each other around nicely. They will even take fish flakes from me if I hold them in the water. My question is, Ive just check the PH and ammonia levels in the tank (getting my other test for nitrites? tomorrow) and PH is 7 and ammonia is 0ppm. Ive been doing regular water changes but not done one since last night, do I need to keep doing such regular changes if my ammonia levels are 0ppm when I test or will it be ok if I just drop the changes down to every other day?

As long as the ammonia & nitrites are at zero & you have some nitrates then weekly water changes will be fine

thanks, they will be getting a parial change tomorrow anyway when I transfer them to the bigger tank x

Cazgar is right. Once your tank is cycled and you consistently have zero ammonia and nitrite, you can do weekly water changes. Water changes will keep the nitrate at a reasonable level and replenish helpful minerals in the water that get used up (even in soft water areas).
