So I have this 35g tank and my 2 platys keep hiding at the bottom of the tank and laying down on the gravel. All the other fish are fine and are acting normally. The water is fine and all the other fish are too. Why are they hiding so much (with their belly touching the ground)? I never paid attention to their genders and now I cant find our cause they are hiding. Also I've never seen them mating so I'm not sure whats wrong with them.

video and pictures of the fish?
As you can see the yellow one finally came out but now he's hiding again....and sorry for the bad pictures but the other one is hiding and I can only see its head.

5 mollies, 2 platy, 8 guppies, 6 neons, ADF, 2 Zebra loaches, 3 Corydoras, 2 weather loaches (dojo loach) and a pleco.
The neons may be bullying them. Have you noticed any aggressive activity with any of the fish?

Neons bullying other fish? That's seems rather unusual but anyways, no, no fish has been agressive. As a matter of fact my platys are the oldest fish in the tank along with the mollies.

How long have they been acting like this and when did you add the platys?

Is the yellow platy male?
Hard to tell from that photo. (Females have circular anal fins, that look like a fan, if that helps you)

They started to act strange yesterday and I've had them for a few months. One thing I have noticed though, was some of the guppies (the male ones) were chasing the platy that is hiding but wasn't being agressive, they were trying to mate the platy. Which I thought was weird as they have females with them.

It probably wasn’t mating, although it is a possibility. It is possible that the guppy was chasing the platy and the platy was trying to hide from it.
