Unusual Bonding......

I had 3 Clown Loaches of which I gave 2 away and 9 Spanner Barbs of which 8 died in a water change event..... Maybe due to the Yellow/Black striping features, but the remaining one of each has bonded with the other and they are always seen schooling together..... Strange relations.....

Prolly because they are sad and lonely? For two very much shoaling species... I spose its just dealing with what they are given...

I have five glowlight rasboras and five guppies. The rasboras school with the rasboras, and the guppies with the guppies. Well, expect the largest of the guppies, who hangs out with the smallest of the rasboras the majority of the time. Sometimes he'll try and fence like guppies do with each other, but mostly he just follows along behind. The rasbora doesn't appear to mind or even notice.

This may be less unusual but I have a yoyo loach who bonded with my fishnet fox. They're always following each other round the tank, great to watch

My male Betta schools with my Harlequins...I will see the betta swimming around in the middle of the harlequins, and they accept him as one of their own lol

I've seen my otos school with my danios when not attached to the side of the tank or a plant and both species have adequate numbers of their own kind. This is in my platy/guppy tank so I don't think it's because either feel threatened. It's very interesting to watch.
