Unknown Cichlid

I have a black and blue stripy cichlid that is hiding at the moment so i can't get a photo but will try again. We rehomed him with a common pleco. we are trying to find them homes but as i don't know the cichlids specie i don't know whether i can keep it with my mollies and maybe some other fish.any ideas of what it could be? its about 3" long at the moment. He has fin rot too i think. how can you treat it?

Sounds like an African cichlid.

Could be one of a few fish really - Convict, Honduran Red Point, Frontosa all spring to mind.
