I have 4 Platys in all. One I have had longer than the others. However she is a lot bigger than them.

She is aroung 2 inches long and the others are about 1 inch. They don't look like they will ever reach the same size?!?!?

Any ideas?

1.5 - 2 inch is about right, but the size depends on many factors

Things that help growth:-
Regular water changes
Feeding live foods
Feeding quality flake foods
Large brood stock
large water volume(bigger the better)

Something that has been available recently is a platy that is the color most often called sunset. They now have dwarf platies in that color. I am told maximum size of these fish is about an inch. My lfs has some fish labeled that way but they looked like immature fish to me. They may just be trying to capitalize on people like me who would like to get some of the dwarfs.

In my opinion theirs no such thing as dawrf platies, not cultavated anyway.
In wild plates their a couple of dawrfs and these gorw to an inch in size, but these have no colour unlike cultavated.

I'm suspecting that with selective breeding their may be a dwarf gene which is possible but i've never seen these fish yet in person and would like to see what the fry do.
