Two Week Holiday

Just looking for other peoples opinions here...

Going on holiday for two weeks, and I have no one what so ever that can come round and feed the fish while I'm away.

I would get one of these automatic feeders, but I keep hearing they are pants. Rather not waste the money.

Two weeks for fish with out any food, bad idea? Or will they be OK?

Large water change the day before going... bigger feed that usual the day before going... ?

Any input will be appriciated

The fish will be fine, especially if you have live plants. Don't give the fish a larger feed before you go as that could cause an ammonia spike when you're not there to deal with it.

Feed the fish sparingly when you get back too; as they're not being fed the amount of ammonia they'll produce will be less, so you don't want to strain your filter bacteria by chuckig in a huge amount of food.

I do have live plants, quite a lot... so shall I leave my lights on the timer? It's not for the fish, it's for the plants don't want to come back to them all dead!

i'd put the timer on for just 4 hours, this will give the plants just enough time for photosynthesis.

My Keyholes and Bolis are staying put! I will swap the Angel for a BN lol. I want more Keyholes I love them ! Mine have got double the size now since buying them. Rams haven't seemed to grow much . Shy fish they are! Wanted to up there numbers too...
