Hi guys,

Thought I'd ask a quick question about my fry.
I found two little fry that decided to come out and about the other day.
I figured they may be around two weeks old but I'd like some input.

They're both the same size: almost 1cm length by maybe four mm height.
Both seem pretty full coloured - one is black with an orange face and orange spots, while the other is blue with a black face and black spots. I'd say smaller than my little finger nail... So cute!

Interestingly, I have two adult females of these colours and I'm wondering whether they are in fact from two separate females..

Anyway, they've beaten the odds and have survived! Fair play to the little guys..

They're currently in a 10gallon heavily planted with 6 adult platies (no other stock). At the moment, stocking is at max and certainly once they grow to size the tank will be overstocked. I have four females to two males so I should realistically expect other batches to beat the odds, though clearly stock control has been fine thus far - It wouldn't be fair on the guys to stay where they are.
My 4ft setup is at my parents while I wait for my first home to become ready so I purchased a 125l today that should arrive tomorrow, so that I can move them all over once cycled.

So another question is regarding planting a tank pre-fish.
Is it possible to aquascape and plant before adding the fish?
I have a homemade CO2 setup on the 10g that I'll move over, and I plan on a partial carpet and some moss. Is there anything I need to be aware of if I'm attempting to settle some plants pre-fish?

Thanks guys!
