Two Deaths

How are the fish do they look any better after the water change.

I would throw the bottle of pimafix away as it might be something wrong with it.

The Pimafix has gone... after this episode I'll be hard pushed to try using that med again.

The 'mood' in the tank has certainly improved, it's far from being back to normal though.
The danios are at the top still, as is the nugget.

The blue rainbows have all their colour back and are swimming around ~fairly~ normally, still with quiet moments. But are both breathing heavily.
The red rainbows are quiet still. They're swimming round the tank occasionally, with the occasional hint of friskieness, but mostly pretty quiet, and there's not a lot of colour.

I tried a small sprinkle of food earlier. There was some half hearted interest if it was right in front of them, but not much was eaten (till it got to the bottom where the clowns hoovered up)

Have you noticed any red streaking, or red patches, or bleeding bemeath the skin.

Some of the danios have quite pink gills, and one looks red on it's upper lip. Haemorrhaging brought on by the toxin or accelerated breathing maybe?

If the pink gills and red lips happened after adding the meds and water change it sounds like it's related.

UPDATE: No deaths overnight!
Many of the fish are looking much happier. There are still 3 danios at the surface, the gold nuggets still up there too.
Total loss so far has been 2 x rainbowfish, 5 x danios :(

I've decided that if I do an 80% water change (carefully) it'll get the bad tank water down to the 5% mark, and hopefully see the last of the danios and the plec in better shape.

Sounding better now.
have you preformed another water change yet.
Did you buy some more declorinator.

Yes, I did a big water change this morning (called in sick!)
Took the level down as far as I dared, any more and the rainbows couldn't have stayed upright.

The plecs still at the surface, and one of the danios is up there more than usual.

The rainbowfish are a lot better. Not 100%, but much better than they were before the latest change even.
They don't really have their colour back but they're very active and not breathing heavily now.

The SAEs are busily stripping the wood of all algae.

Although at the surface the golden nuggets breathing rate has slowed right down... fingers crossed he makes it.

I think I'll leave it a couple of days to settle back into normality, hopefully the last remaining issues will pick-up.
(will do regular water tests in case the big water change has hurt the bacteria levels)

It sounds a lot better.
The fish that are still at the top of the tank. The damage might not be reversable.

No, I know :-( The nuggets at a nice size, about 4", got nice colour and filled out nicely, it'll be a real shame to lose him. :(

Lets us all know how they get on,.
Good Luck.
