I wonder if a web page or resource like this exists...

You're choosing new fish. Whether into a new tank or as additions to an existing tank, you've got various criteria in mind. Maybe you specifically need a bottom feeder, comfortable at a particular temperature range. Perhaps you want a calm, schooling community fish that stays under a certain adult size. Maybe you want to specify other fish in the tank, and only list those which are okay along with them.

Basically, you'd have lots of checkboxes and tags and such to select in order to specify the criteria for the search, and then the page would spit back various choices that fit with all the criteria you've selected.

Does any resource like that exist out there?

No.... I don’t believe so...

If you have any specific questions about stocking, you can always create a separate thread. :)

I just post a thread on here for ideas :)

Well, sure. The community here has been a great resource for me so far, and thanks.

But I love to overthink things, and I love to bat ideas around. If I just did this here, I'd try to list all of the factors and constraints I can think of, but I'd forget things. Suggestions would be helpfully made, and I'd have to reply saying, "ah, that's cool, but there's this other criteria I forgot to mention that makes that choice impossible", and we'd start all over again.

That's why I website or something would be great. All the criteria I might need to consider would be listed as options, so I'd be less likely to forget things. And as I add each factor, I can see the list or possibilities narrow. Then it's easy to change one ("Hmm, if I put in a heater to raise the temp, these two drop out of the list, but those ten others appear; maybe I should consider that") and see the result.

I always check my ideas on seriously fish to see compatability

Try Thinkfish.
You enter the tank size and dimensions then add/ remove fish. You can go to a drop-down list to specify bottom feeders etc. It indicates stocking level and incompatible fish regarding size, shoal size, predation etc. Its not as sophisticated as you are describing but its a starting point. Suppliment it with research and advice.

Hey! That's along the lines of what I was thinking. Thank you! Now I've got some exploring to do.

I appreciate your time and help, everyone.

Theres a lot of fish missing on there but it’s good for the more popular fish types. Something like your suggestion would be a great help to me at the moment.
