did a quick swoop for fish and P@H was the best deal locaaly for me with the following to name a few:-

marble hatchet £3.49 each - 2 for £6
Albino Corydoras £2.99 each 2 for £5
Red honey gouramis £3.99 each - 2 for £7
neon tetras £1.49 each - 3 for £4
peppered corydoras £2.99 each 2 for a £5

apple snale £2.49 2 for £4
spotted snail 2.99 each 2 for £5

Not that i got all the above they were just the ones i noted by taking a quick pic to comprae when i went around the garden centred etc

the above were prob all small sized

Roughly the same around here but I hate to see deals being done on those numbers of fish, gives the impression the fish will be fine in two's or three's when in reality they will not. Sorry to derail the topic, I just can't help myself sometimes :p

Seems pretty reasonable.

Marbles last time I checked where 3 for £10 In a lfs in cornwall.

Sterbai cory are 3 for £12

I remember seeing an offer in my local P@H for assorted Rams, 2 for £5, was quite tempted.

Thought you couldn't buy apple snails through shops any more in the UK?

I have an lfs that does them 20 for £15! I dont need any tetras and they dont look healthy to me. It looks like there are 100 crammed in a small tank!

We recently bought 6 pepper cory's from one of our local lfs' and they were the same price as the Op's quotation i.e. £2.99 for one and £5.00 for two and that was on the 31/10/2012.

Well i got

2 more sterbai corys
6 more neon tetras
2 blue dwarf gouramis

tank looks a little more lived in now - prob get some hatchet fish next

Prices are all over the place down here, my nearest MA in Hickstead has some electric blue rams @ 25 quid each, the next nearest MA in Brighton has them @ 8 quid each. Considering that's the same chain of shops I'm surprised to be honest.

The different locations may have different managers that choose different prices.

Ask MBOU, he works at one of them.

Yep, I bought 2 cupid cichlids from the Guildford MA for £14 for two, but the next day I was in the Ashtead MA, 7 miles from the other, and the only cupid there was £24. I queried it and was told it was because it was bigger, but I thought the size difference was minimal, if any...

Just added a school of small neons today; the deal was 95p each and 2 free with 10. So I asked for 10+2 but ended up with 14 for £9.50 !!

I believe it is still legal for people to sell whatever stocks of apple snails they have, but it is illegal to import them. Eventually they'll disappear from the UK market.
