you need a long tank, not deep. If there is any aggression then they can only swim up, and that is not a fishes fastest route of getting out of the way!

Those fish look miserable. Please put them in a long tank. You can find used tanks on craigslist.org very cheap. As cheap as $10 at times.

Most of what people on this thread have posted is so unhelpful. Writing things like that will only make the OP not reply and keep the fish in the same tank. How about you try and be helpful which is what a forum is about, and explain what is wrong and stop being so hostile.

The original poster obviously thinks his tank is okay, he has no idea that the fish might die or why he might need to upgrade his tank.



Anyway, I don't know much about AFrcian cichlids, but I do know that most cichlids need tanks that are long, not tall, and they need a lot of filtration.

i don't think that everybody wanted to react that way but mine was probably the same as theirs',way too small.i'm not an expert on cichlids but the ones i have do need room.they like their territories but they also like to explore.you have some nice looking fish and you really should get them in a suitable tank.and make sure they have places to hide.

Wow that is badly overstocked mate.

With african cichlids the minimum you want is a 4 foot long for agression issues. It looks like you have a front in there, these gets huge well over a foot long.
