Im starting up some triops 9again) and wanted to know a couple of things
Whats the "best" food to feed them? used too use fish food but i walways found it just rotted in the tank... found the same with pellets
When should i be feeding them?
How can i get more than one to survive? i always end up with just one super triop
Where can i get a constant supply of dahpnia and fairy shrimp? Should i just suck up the ones from original eggs?
can i feed daphnia and fairyshrimp with seamoney food?
Can i keep triops in salt water? (plan on keeping them with sea monkeys)(yes i know the seamonkeys wont last long)
sand or mud at the bottom of the tank?#

i find that a powdered algae wafer works

tripos can be cannibalistic so its no wonder you end up with a super triops. they are very cool little critters!

Each other you can feed them virtually anything I am surprised they didn't accept fish food perhaps if you powder it. You could set up a brine shrimp colony 3/4 of the way it says how to setup "food for the fry" relating to bettas but you can do the same for triops http/www.betta-paradise.co.uk/about.html. They enjoy live food as it cause them to hunt and bring out more natural responses.
5 times a day they will eat as much as you give them there diets are near neverending aslong as the food doesn't rot you will be good and with live food being added they can hunt for a couple of hours.
Cannibalistic nature the fastest grower eats the rest as soon as possible to stop competition

I believe they can survive in light brachish water but need to be spawned in distilled water

I've had triops quite a few times and they have been successful. Quite fascinating creatures, aren't they? I don't know where you can still get them but I used to get packs with the tank, the eggs and small food pellets. I put gravel on the base of their tank but I'm not sure about that question. When they get big enough (or when you think they're big enough to manage it) you can start to feed them little bits of fish.
