I am currently debating making a journey to a fish store which is around about 50 miles away. The only problem is is that I'll be making the journey by bus and train so overall the journey will take around an hour and half but I was just wondering if it would be safe to transport fish for this long especially with it being on trains and buses? Also if it is safe has anyone got any advice on what to do to keep the risks minimal. (The fish I'm looking at transporting are Plecs)

Shouldn't be a problem, especially if the LFS fills the bag with oxygen, rather than air, but even if they don't, I don't really see a problem in terms of oxygenation in the water. If you have a large enough insulated bag (picnic bag or box) that'll help keep the temperature stable.

I guess you are going to Peir? I bought a Severum from there last year and had to make an emergency detour on the way home for one reason or another. 8 hours later I put him in the tank and he is still ok.

Thanks for the advice about the insulated bag.
And I am planning on going to go to Rare Aquatics in Crewe but just looked on Pier's website and got some great plecs plus it's a lot closer so I'll deffo have to have a trip there also. :good:
