wow!! we're hopefully going to toronto later this year :D

Can anyone ID the fish 3rd from the left?

Hahaha isn't that just a background put on the front rather than the back. Imagine trying to make sure all were getting their feed.

That tank is literally a 5 min walk away from me right now. It is a tank located in the Toronto Zoo (I work there) and it is quite a large tank. It is in our African Rainforest Pavilion and is our Lake Malawi Cichlid exhibit. It may look overstocked from that picture, but it is a picture from a side angle so you cant really see the actual size of the tank and there is a great amount of filtration, so I can gaurentee you that it is not overstocked.

I've visited the Toronto Zoo many times and there are some amazing fish kept there. The exhibits are grouped regionally so there are tanks scattered all over the Zoo. It takes an absolute minimum of 2 days to really see it all. Hmm, maybe this summer, it's only 100 miles from me.

You must love working there, sswm.

seriously? we're probably only gonna be in toronto for about 3/4 days, is it definatley worth a visit then?

It is a great zoo to visit, its the 3rd largest in North America and our exhibits are really nice i think. You could easily spend 4+ hours walking around and seeing everything. It's too bad you are coming this summer and not next because our Australasia pavilion exhibit is under construction right now. We are putting in a new Great Barrier Reef exhibit, which i can't wait to see once it is done. Apparently from what i've heard, it is going to have a column aquarium that you can walk around 360 degrees that will be full of jellyfish, which sounds cool.
