The lil guy they were going to freeze, well he was healthy for alittle while now his top fin dorsal?? is falling off
there is alittle triangle there now.... I dont think its fin rot but then I have never had anyfish with fin rot. Seriously though the fin was there one day the next morning it was all yucky and falling off
I am treating with salt (I keep some in the water most of the time so)
Melafix and Primafix. I took the carbon out of the filter he is still eating well no nests any more and he spends alot of time resting on a plant.
Also turns out hes nto a VT he is a spade tail!!
I will send pics if the little guy lives what do I do now for him
I tested the water and everything as at the right levels the temp is 83 degrees and he is in 5 gallons just him and a snail
there is Silk plants in the tank and a aquaclear filter on the lowest setting

bless I think you are doing all you can. One I rescued months ago with split fins is not very active he sort of rests his butt on the heater I quite often think he has gone but then he swims to the front to see me. He eats, has never bubble nested, and his fins are a bit fused together but I think he is as happy as can be.
