Too Much Flow?

With that in mind, would if be better to switch to the top outlet for surface agitation rather than using the middle spray bar? This might create less turbulence in the middle for them.

yeh, to be honest I was expecting to see a spray bar at the top agitating the water before I watched the vid. Once the substrate/plats/decor etc is in, they too will stem the flow somewhat. My corys LOVE a strong flow to swim against at night. And my Colombian Tetras are so slim-line they are NOT affected what so ever. (sorry though, I dont have the U4. I have a fluval 4+ : in a 125litre)

lol, the camera is the one on my iphone 4. It might drop signal strength every now and again but shooting HD video from a phone still impresses me.

I find the Ammonia alert to be a very useful little tool once you get used to how it reacts and how to read the slight variations in shades. During cycling you get to see all of its colour range and relate that to an actual test reading from the water.

Then once its cycled if you see the slightest change from the perfect yellow you know you've got problems. I use it as an early warning/quick visual check to show if/when further investigation is necessary.

An iPhone you say... I take back my comment haha, tight #14### that I am.

How fast does this product change or does it take a matter of hours to shift between the gradients of colours? How long does it last before it expires?

I have the U4 but am currently doing a fishless cycle so it is difficult to tell what it will be like once the fish are in. I don't think it looks too bad though. I am planning on a mainly tetra tank so I would imagine it will suit them ok. The tank came supplied with the U3 but I decided to replace it with the U4 after three weeks of my cycle not moving. Maybe coincidence but a few days after moving the ceramic media over and adding some extra to the U4 my tank started cycling so perhaps the bigger surface area is helping. Oh, and I have the Fluval Roma 125 litre tank so not much larger than your one.
