I am redoing my 35 gallon tank and i am either putting firemouths or kribs and some other stuff in it. I was thinking about getting three plecos, a l-137 (candy striped pleco, a l-002 (tiger pleco), and a l066 (gypsy king tiger). Is this too much or will this do? If i get the kribs, what else could I put with them? Thanks in advance :good:

You can have all 3 plecs and either choose to have the kribs OR firemouths. Not both. Tank is too small. If they both female or both male then perhaps you could add a couple of other fish. Let me know if you want a breeding pair.

i do want a breeding pair, could i have like 1 male and two females of either. still dont know what im getting decides on the condition my lfs has them in

im just thinking my tank would look empty with just the pair and three plecos. also would the plecos eat the eggs that the kribs of firemouths laid? thanks in advance

is there any chance that if they like laid eggs on slate that i could remove the slate to my small empty 6 gallon or will that hurt the eggs? i could also put it in my brothers fifteen gallon which is empty. man this sucks

If you go for a candy striped pleco, you will need to have a mix of driftwood and bogwood in the tank as wood makes up an important part of these pleco's diets.
I don't know much on kribs or firemouths, but i do know that acclimatising fertile fish eggs to other tanks can be a particularly risky/difficult process as fish eggs are particularly sensitive to water quality conditions.
Plecos are not particularly active fish in general, you won't see them out a great deal doing much as most are nocturnal or semi-nocturnal, if you are looking to make the tank look more complete these fish may not be the right ones for you. Personally if you were you i would go for the kribs instead of teh firemouths, and then decide what you want to do after that with the stocking :thumbs: .

actually i have decided to get a community instead. my dad got me this special soil that is really good for plants and i wouldnt be using it if i got the cichlids because i wouldnt have lots of plants. could i get a clown pleco instead of the candy striped then?

actually i dont want a candy striped or a clown, i want a leopard frog pleco, will that be okay?

So you are going for a community tank now with no firemouths or kribs? Leopard frog pleco depends on the rest of your stocking, here's a short article to keeping leopard frog pleco's;

I would still advise having driftwood or bogwood for these pleco's, as the wood makes a good habitat for the pleco.

yeah i do have some bogwood or driftwood, dont know which. i think ill get him plus the king gypsy pleco, and the tiger pleco, or candy striped (dont know which, what would you recomend?)

It all depends which one you prefer. We have a Candy Striped and King Tiger Pleco, both beautiful and don't get too big.
The Candy Striped doesn't come out that much though whereas the King Tiger pops his head out now and again.

Stang1-arent the king gypsy pleco and the king tiger the same thing? i thought they were both l-066? think i will get the candy striped, king tiger (king gypsy), and the leopard frog pleco
Mystix212-i am going to get a breeding pair of discus, the three plecos mentioned above, and 5 bleeding heart tetras, or black/white skirt tetras.
