To Separate Or Not?

I was just wondering if i should separate my western rainbows... i have 3 (2 male and a female) one male has clearly made friends with the female and is constantly attacking the other male. i know that they should be kept in a group but i would rather separate them then see them fighting but not sure they can be in my other tank with my balloon blue rams! The other option is take it to the lfs.

Well it's recommended to keep several female for each male. Maybe the one being picked on is a male, then you should separate them. If not, then it's a female, so i say leave it.


If things get really bad, separate.

When I got them they were young and all the same size. I do know now that its 2 males and 1 female. Ill go chat to my lfs and see if they will swap male for female

That's a great idea. You'll be better of with 2 females and a male, You can breed them if you want to
