I've currently got 6 pygmy cories in a 28L, but as much as I love the little guys, I'm debating whether to keep them or not. I don't see them that much as most of the time they're almost as still as statues at the back of the tank. Sometimes I'll a few of them on a night or early morning, but I wouldn't say that I do so on a daily basis. I want them to have the best possible lives, so if I'm not doing that right now, I'm not sure if I feel it's right to keep them. But then, there's the question of what sort of home they might go to if I give them to a LFS. I'm just not quite sure. I know 28L isn't really big enough and there's little hope of an upgrade any time soon.
If I keep them, they'll be with a betta when the tank is sorted out. If I rehomed them, I have thought of getting a few male endlers to replace them.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Firstly endlers & betta not a good mix...

Rather than take them to the lfs, offer them here in the classifieds, peeps are always looking for them :good:

Yes, that would be a good option if I chose to rehome them - I would know that they'd be going to a good home too.

Quite a few members on here keep endlers and bettas together though, I didn't think there'd be a problem

Yep they are commonly kept together, may even get some myself one day (hubby has decided he likes them

This member is looking for more pygmy corydoras ;)

28l is rather small for 6 of them.

As an alternative to endlers you could try to get hold of one of the micro rasbora species?

I think if a bigger tank isn't on the cards then yes, I'd be inclined to rehome them, I think. Although I understand your reluctance...

I'm pretty sure I know where I could get hold of ember tetras and galaxy rasboras without too much trouble and I could try asking if I could get some others ordered in. I do think I almost like to see tanks on the 'empty side' with lots of space for the fish, so I don't want to over do things like I seem to have done with the corys.
