I fancy a rescape my six foot aquarium; at the moment it is very wood-oriented. I am thinking of going to more plants and rocks but I have seven Clown Loaches and I need to make sure their requirements are met and that they don't demolish any new plants.

As it stands, I have Vallisnaria and Amazon Sword plants as they are the only ones I have found that the Clown's will not eat. What else can I use? Clown's require cover which my present large amount of wood (plus a few brown drainpipes) provide; what other cover-devices have other C .Loach enthusiasts used?

I'm a HUGE fan of slaterock. I seem to find it everywhere in the part of the U.S. I live in. But even aside from that, it just looks natural and cool to me.

Right now I actually have three pieces laying upright against the back wall of a 10-gallon. It makes a cool natural background.

I like the idea of using rocks of all types but the weight always worries me. I do have sand in the tank so there wouldn't be any point-contacts so I'll have a think about that.
