ok ive Tested today
PH 8.2
Salinity 1.024
Nitrite 0.0
nitrate 0.0
Amonia 0.0
Diatoms are increasing and im finding new growth of stuff, the crab is hiding and ive see a snail
well i think its a snail u see, its like a round shell with a worm that comes out and then the worm drags the shell
and the shell catches up! lol! hehehe! looks like a snail with a bad limp! it was whizzing around the diatoms today.

Cool if the ammonia and nitrite stays at zero for a couple of days I would start getting you CUC.
Dont be too disappointed about not seeing too many hitchhikers right away. Some will be in there but rarely come out, others will be larvee or small and you wont notice them until they are bigger and some will be small and you wont notice them until there populations grow. I have had most the LR in my tank for close to a year and a half and I still find new hitchhikers in there from time to time (like I saw a massive worm in there at the weekend which Im looking to ID now
).

If it was cured rock and no out of water long then you probably got a tiny one o none at all. Wait afew days first and if all remain zero i would add a small CUC and maybe a few days-a week after your first fish
Cant see your Nitrates being zero as there will always be nitrates in a tank to a certain degree, but thats just nitpickin, Do a large waterchange and start adding your CUC.
Choose types for all aspects of the job, Nass snails, Cerith snails, Turbo/Astrea snails, Trocus Snails, Red or Blue Hermit crabs. Add these slowly and not all at the one time. Dont forget the extra empty for the hermits as they change abode quite regular and will kill snails if they like the look of their shell.

maybe i read the chart wrong but ive been Testing stuff for ages though i do admit this test kit might
be hard to read so here is my plan..i will give it 24hrs and retest..then i will do a large change..
now as for CUC! BigC !! GT dont seem to have much of a choice any online suggestions?
and do i need chaeto and rowaphos?

I would put some rowaphos in one of the back weirs.
Cheato is also a good idea, I recently put some in my tank, but my beloved emerald crab has scoffed the lot
so i have some more on order which I shall put in back, where, hopefully the little darling can't get at it

there are millions of little monsters in my tank!
Oh yes i have done the large water change this evening and i will test in 24hrs time
Diatoms are increasing and there is more stuff appearing on the LR
i have saw an advert on flea bay for a CUC tomorrorow i will post the details!
