Tips On Making Shade In Tanks

As it says in the title do you have any good tips to make good shade in a tank? I ask this because my glass cats really don't like the lighting and would want something to make abit of shade in the back on the tank, all suggestions welcome.

Tall plants such as Valis will form shady areas in the tank, as will surface plants such as Amazonian Frogbit, Duck weed and other floating plants, although once Duck Weed is in your tank, it aint coming out!
