hello everyone i was thinking we should compile useful tips and tricks like you know quickly use salt to protect the fish from harm if nitrites are high and we dont have a water conditioner on hand. i think this would be fun and qute helpful does'nt everybody think??

Good idea, I know it is past midnight in the UK, and that is where the majority of the members on this forum live. It is only 8:33 here.

using salt in the aqarium can be lethal, certain fish such as corys and plecs can be burnt by it and in the long run die. The cure to high nitrates is water changes and find the cause of them

EDIT

just saw you said nitrites not nitrates sorry, either way the same information goes. Look for decaying fish and do daily water changes until your params are ok
