Is that Tingley Tropicals Bradford Rd. Tingley Wakefield West Yorkshire.
I lived in Bradford (no scarcasim) for over 20 years and was a member ogf Bradford and District A.S. Tingley Tropicals was one of the finer true aquarist shops in the area. It may have changed hands since the early ninties but if I remember they used to specialise in Rift Lake Cichlids.
Please advise if this is still the case.

yeah definately the same shop. i strongly doubt if it's changed hands, i've only found the shop about 2 years ago but it definately has the impression of him having run it for ever and ever. specialises in rift lake cichlids and catfish.

Ah good to see it's still there, I remember buying lots of julidochromis species from there, back in the early eightys.
Any of you from the Yorkshire area, members of a local Aquarist Society.

Sadly, the number of Aquatic Societies seems to be shrinking (no doubt due to the internet - though it does have its uses!). I'd love to find one, if only for the fish and plant auctions these clubs seem to have.

theres an advert for one up in the lobby of PFT vinylman

we've thought about going but lifes pretty hectic right now, not got the time really.

There are still a lot around you know. Yes you are correct in saying that the circuit is shrinking. If you are interested in joinging a local yorkshire society then get in touch with Sue Kenworthy at Otley A.S. and I'm sure she'll give you the details of your nearest society. otleyaquarists@yahoo.co.uk
I know that my old club Bradford is still running. There were loads around the Leeds area in the early nineties. Well worth joining one believe me.
