Time to tell a story

Each post must continue the story:

A long time ago in a simple time a girl and a boy took a walk to the store. They past a pond where they spent an hour watching the ducklings and blue jays and then continued on towards the store....

It has been raining earlier in the day, leaving many puddles along the edge of the roads, but the sun was now shining brightly in the clear sky above.
As the boy and girl waited to cross the road to the store, a car passed by, it's wheels powering through the puddle in front of them, slashing water up the front of them onto their clothes and even covering their faces!! Spluttering and shaking the water off their hands, the girl and boy looked at each other in shock and began laughing.... The girl said, jokingly "We must look like a couple of fish out of the water!"
Speaking of fish.......

there in his chest pocket, the boy found an annual killifish that had been trapped and doomed in that Uruguayan puddle.

"We can't let it die!" said the girl.

The boy lifted it by the tail, looked at its beautiful reflective colours and ate it.
"It tastes like...."

chocolate." as he licked his lips, realizing he would never eat another one due to the foul taste but his little sister who was still hitting him for eating it started wondering....

So she went to the local chain pet store and bought some of the fish to try. After a stay in a hospital it was determined that the fish were gene manipulated and the manipulation done to the fish had cased her own genes to be affected and eventually her legs would transform into a tail and she would be able to breathe under water. Since she was an Aquaman comic fan she decided that she could then go find him after the transformation finished. AND.................

Her brother spent the evening crying for the lost of his beloved play mate; his sister. He cried and cried ....

But all was not lost as she could live as easily on land as in water... or the doctors predicted. It was believed that she would become an "aqualady" that could easily live in both worlds as could Aquaman. Still there was an issue as they were brother and sister. Yet. while exploring her DNA and gene breakdown, it was discovered that they were not actually brother and sister. Further evidence proved that he was adopted and they could be together if they so chose. She was the love of his life but it was her that would need to decide as to if they could have a relationship. Would she end up searching for Aquaman or devote herself to her life long partner? Sadly, as a narrator of this story, I suffered a concussion and have lost some of the deeper aspects of this love story Or is it a love tragedy?

Due to my concussion I cannot conclude this story and must rely on others to fill in gaps of which I am unable....

And then I woke up and muttered, "Wow. What a sick dream."

I sat up and looked over at my wife.
"Geez, I just had a sick dream" I lamented.
"Tell me about it".
"Well, you were in it" I began.
"Ooh, so it was a sex dream" my wife cooed.
"Eh, no. We were kids, and sometimes you were my girlfriend, and then you were my sister. I ate a fish, and it tasted like chocolate, but in a gross way- it was just so weird."
"Sounds like you were probably thirsty" she said.
After a long silence, I said "We should order one of those genetic testing kits."
"Why?" She asked.
"Well, what if we're really brother and sister?"

This could be a really fun thread but we all MUST remember that there are members involved that are minor children so let's try to keep any incest aspect out. That said....

Thankfully it had already been proven through DNA testing, while she was being treated in the hospital, that the two were in no way related in any way other than both being human even though her biology was changing due to the gene manipulations.

Still there is a serious issue with their relationship. She will be living in two worlds at the same time; land and sea, while he will be restricted to land. She is becoming a Selkie and nothing can prevent this. On land she will appear as a human but in water she will take the form of a seal as the old Celtic mythology described.

Once again my concussion hampers my ability to relate further at this time as I just cannot remember details other than I have stated that I fully know to be true. It is my hope that others that know of this tragic, yet wonderful, couple can add to the epic story of their lives. I know in my heart that they achieved great deeds but my concussed mind can only remember them, not their heroic deeds. Please help me remember these special people...........
