1st tell me how to differentiate between a male and a female...the red nose thing doesn`t work for me any other clue?

i find my fish changing colour from dull to bright green all the time, any particular reason ?

they move around in groups all seven and most of the time when they meet each other they go vertical signals. is it the hierarchy thing between them, like one fish being submissive.

But the deal is that now this guy is doing it then after some time that guy, then the third guy or girl whatever. Normally the dull ones do it more often. there seem to be pairing too but then again the vertical dance :lol:

I am really confused.

Females are wider bodied than males. The red nose thing is the most definitive way to determine gender. Give the fish time to grow up and the sexes will be more defined.

The green tint is an illusion. It doesn't really mean anything.

The vertical is usually a sign of submission, yes. They also do this while resting. It can also also be a sign of stress due to poor water conditions.

Best way of sexing young tigers is to look at the dorsal fin.

Males will have a very red edge, whereas the females will only have a tiny bit of red on the very edge; the rest wil be clear, above the black part :good:

"the rest wil be clear" you mean transparent right...so its like black then line of red and then transparent ??

Please note I have green tigers only. I just noticed that there dorsal fins only consist of black not a line of red, loool i guess i have 7 femmes. :lol:
