Tiger Barbs

i think so!!!!! pics aint much cop but i dug up some big old worms from the garden as a treat for my seves ( they love em bigger the better ) check out this feisty little fella. he won the tug of war with another tiger barb then swam off and hid behind the heater with his prize. then all 10 just ripped into it in a right feeding frenzy .was almost like watching a shoal of piranah feeding!

to give you an idea of scale the tiger barb is about an inch

yep they went crazy for em. i give them to my sevs once a week as a treat. i got the tiger barbs a few days ago this is the 1st time they have encountered an earthworm . it was so funny watching a tiny little tiger barb swimming around with about 4 inches of worm hanging out of its mouth!

wow did you have to buy them or did you pull em out of the earth and was em lol
how many tiger barbs you got?

im thinkin of keepin a mixed school of albinos, greens and normals.

i just dig em up and wash em. i did toy with the idea of a shoal of mixed normals and greens but the normals are my fave so i just got 10 of them instead

Hahahahaha!!! I have to agree with you here - never given mine earthworms, but I know what they're like even with the Hikari cichlid pellets - they can't even get them in their mouths but they swim round like maniacs with these big pellets holding their mouths open like those whole roasted pigs with apples in their gobs

Don't get me started on prawns... they just grab the pieces out of the parrots and sevvies mouths!!

yep all i do is dig them up give them a good wash in water and chuck em in live. altho i should point out the barbs werent the intended recipients they were just quicker to the 1st worm than the cichlids. if youre planning on feeding them to your angels id use smaller worms
also make sure you get them from an area you know that no pestecides/chemicals/weed killer etc has been used .

lol yep mine do that with cichlid pellets catfish pellets and just about anything they can get their greedy little maulers on. ive wanted tiger barbs ever since i 1st got a tank and now i have got some i cant believe i didnt get them sooner. im thinking about adding another half dozen

They are brilliant fish - they add so much character to a tank I'll be adding some more soon I think. It's so funny watching the younger, smaller ones buzzing around and pestering the grownups - so much like proper kids pestering the parents D
