Tiger Barbs And Other Tank Mates

I have a 20 gal with 7 tiger barbs and 2 black neons (about 4 other neons died). One day I noticed that one neon was missing. I looked everywhere but couldn't find it. The next day the other was gone. I decided that this would be a good time for tank maintenance and thorough vacuumed and searched the substrate and cleaned the entire filter but didn' t find a trace of either of them.
This sounds nuts but is it possible that the tiger barbs devoured them?

I'm sorry, but how long has your tank been set up and how often do you perform maintenance?

my tank's been up for months and I perform maintenance weekly.

Chances are they might have picked at him but i cant see him eating everything, i had a problem where a guppy went missing, i found him days later growing with mold and eww it was gross, you'll find him eventually, my guppy was stuck between driftwood and rock,

he's polute your tank if you dont find him.

I've had fish die in my tigerbarb tank and they always left the dead fish alone, plus the fact that TB's generall won't kill other fish to eat them, they just fin nip. This can lead to death, but from what I've seen it takes more than overnight for this to happen. I doubt they just all of a sudden killed the neon. In all liklihood he's somewhere you haven't looked, OR he did die and your TB's like corpses.

Eh. I think it's ok... but I wouldn't have much else in there with them. Certainly not another schooling fish.

In my opinion 40-50 gallons is the minimum tank size for tigers, they usually stress and start acting aggressively in a small tank and group.

IMO Its fine. 7 tigers in 20g is alright,They do stress other fish.PLus actually there is something more here, Neons need mature water and are demanding fish, so the water conditions must be the perfect. Test the water and post the results. However a partial water change won`t hurt
