So I've had my guppies for about a year and a half and I'm thinking about changing my stock. I want something interesting but not sure what will be best. I've had lots of fun breeding the guppies and getting some lovely colours, but I feel like I want to try breeding something else.

My tank is a juwel vision 260. I've got cories and shrimps in the tank as well as the guppies. I've got very hard water and my ph is between 7.5 and 8, so will need a species suitable for these conditions. I would like to keep the cories and shrimps as well but if the shrimp have to go then I could find them a home.

So far I've had a quick look at killifish, kribs, and discus (although they seem quite difficult to keep).

Any help and ideas would be greatly appreciated :)

I too have super hard water and high ph... and I'm having luck breeding kribs!

Rasboras, Danios, or Rainbows would be cool choices and have plenty of variety to choose from.

if you enjoy breeding your fish then Kribs would be a good choice - as above they will happily breed in a hard water environment but it has an effect on the sex of the fry nearly 90% of them will be male :)
