Next door Neighbor as given me some easy balance and said there daughter uses it all the time to make the water good? I think i have done wrong as i have put it in to the bottle instruction and water as been cloudy for two hours now. Should i do a big water change to take it out? Help!

"EasyBalance® provides an invaluable safety net for the time challenged hobbyist. Nitraban™ adds further stability to aquariums by helping natural bacteria complete the nitrogen cycle. These white, biodegradable granules settle into the gravel where they nourish beneficial de-nitrification bacteria that convert nitrate to harmless nitrogen gas. When used on a weekly basis, EasyBalance® will help keep your fish healthy while making your job easier. The water is kept biologically healthy for up to 6 months, extending time between water changes. It's a comprehensive benefits package for both you and your fish alike."

Looks like it's one of the useless products that don't really do anything....what's the effort in doing a weekly water change anyway?
Is there anything wrong with your tank? Why did you add the stuff?

Could you explain exactly what product it is and what it is meant to do?

A tank can go without a water change for 2 weeks just fine, once a week is ideal and in some circumstance every 2 weeks is better anyway, I wouldn't have worried TBH...just do a big water change before you go.

Anyway, on the basis of what it is I wouldn't be worried about it, you would hope that it doesn't do any damage because of what it's supposedly for...even if it might not do what it says on the label

I just try to stay away from such products, keeping things as natural as can be, just my opinion though

I agree. Probably harmless. If it 'nourishes bacteria' the cloudy water may be a bacteria bloom, although I dont see how it could have happened so fast.

I think it's probably just cloudy from the "white, biodegradable granules", I still don't buy the bacteria nourishment thing...it's an unnatural chemical element that doesn't belong IMHO...
