Okay! So, erm, yeah. I have WAAAAAY too many diamond tetra fry.

Before you ask, "Now, Haunt, how did THAT happen?" I have absolutely NO idea. AT all. Apparently they're difficult to breed, yet they just keep coming back! The person at our lfs told us so, and now we have five fry. We bought 10 diamond tetras originally for our 55 gallon tank, and we had two babies. So, it's like, okay, that's fine, YAY WE HAVE FRY!

Now, we're still happy, but it's a bit, "And how did THIS happen...?"

Right, so. One side of the tank has a busted lightbulb, and since my Dad hasn't gotten around to fixing it yet, and I don't know how, and neither does my Mom, one side of the tank is always in darkness. I've heard that you need darkness to breed baby tetras, and there's definitely a lot of those little dark places in the tank! Could that be why?

Tetras usually feel more secure in dark areas so it certainly will have played a part

You could always try raising the fry and selling them on here or see if the LFS would buy them from you instead of their supplier.

Congratulations on breeding this hard-to-breed fish :good:
