I've had these snails for a week now and both of my tanks, even the gravel, are sparkling clean and almost completely algae free. I have to look really hard to find any and it's very tiny spots of it, surrounded by teeth marks. I had green and black/brownish algae on the glass, gravel and ornaments that no variety of light schedule would do any good. I love these guys. 
There is a little bit of algae still on some of the plant leaves but between the nerites, the round snails and the trumpet snails, that is improving too.
And now I have to get some cucumber or something tomorrow so they don't starve.
