I had to bring in Electric Blue Johanni African cichlids from an importer once, I got 4, 2 of which died in quarantine. Customer was willing to spend $200 apiece on them, this was back in about 2000

I would suggest contacting Dan's and asking why. He came to my club last month and showed us how they package fish for shipping. They take amazing care of them. I've bought some from him and I can always tell the fish are much much healthier when I get them and have done extremely well.

Having said that, they are expensive as all-getout and it's a difficult decision to spend that money.

I'm sure they would tell you exactly why they price it where they do- then you can decide if it's worth your $$ or you'd be happy with someone else's. The way it reads, I would guess that it's hard to get "the real thing" but that's a total guess.
