Theres Something Wrong With My Molly

Columnaris can affect the gills aswell.

COLUMNARIS
The hospital tank should be heated to approx. 74 degrees. 76 and above is the ideal breeding temperature for columnaris. Though there is some dispute over lowering the temperature, my experience has been that 72 is too low for the medication to work rapidly, 76+ causes the disease to breed more rapidly than the anti-biotic can kill, and 74 is "just right." Remember to keep this temperature stable!

i have been keeping my tank stable at 24 degrees celsius. IF my molly gets better will he be able to eat as it has effected his mouth?

Oh and also WOW that pimafix stinks lol just took a whiff of it in the bottle, as i opened i thought here we go something else that's gonna turn my fingers green  , but surprisingly not :good:

Also I'm just a little worried now with my main tank being at 30 Celsius for treating white spot that some fish might show the signs of columnaris :(

it depends with his mouth. Has it rotted away.

Never used pimafix so couldn't say lol. Melafix stinks aswell. Takes your breath away.

Leave the temp if you are treating for whitespot.

its pretty much the same as the photograph but a little more obvious to the eye he cant fit anything in the mouth the because only a tiny hole exists now really. but yeah his mouth is gone.

This is going to sound awful but if he mouth gone I would put him out of his misery. He will just end up starving to death.

oh my goodness i don't want him to suffer all that and i especially do not want him to suffer his head being eaten away

how wouldI go about ending his suffering? Plus if there's a chance he's making the other one worse too...

Yes columnaris can wipe a tank out in less than aday if it's a bad strain.

Jug of cold water and add ice cubes till the water is freezing cold. If no ice cubes place the jug of water in the freezer till a thin sheet of ice forms on the surface.
Place the fish in the ice cold water. It should only take about 20 seconds. Make sure the gills are not moving.
Leave the fish a while in the jug to make sure its passed away.
